Receipt Footer

Add a custom footer to the bottom of every invoice PDF and payment receipt email — a return policy, warranty terms, store hours, or a simple thank-you note. Write it once and it appears on all customer-facing billing documents automatically.

Overview

The Receipt Footer lives in Admin Settings → Receipt Footer (under Financial in the sidebar). It is a rich-text editor: format your footer with bold, italic, underline, and bullet lists, and the formatting carries through to payment receipt emails. Invoice PDFs use a plain-text version of the same footer.

📄

Invoice PDFs

The footer prints near the bottom of every invoice PDF, above "Thank you for your business!".

📧

Receipt Emails

Payment receipt emails include the footer, with formatting, below the payment details.

🏢

Organization-Wide

One footer for your whole organization — it applies to all locations.

Setting Up Your Footer

1

Open Receipt Footer

Go to Admin Settings and click Receipt Footer under the Financial category in the sidebar.

2

Write Your Footer

Type the text you want on receipts — for example, "All repairs carry a 90-day warranty. Thank you for your business!" Use the toolbar buttons to apply bold, italic, underline, or a bullet list.

3

Save

Click Save Footer. The footer takes effect immediately on newly generated invoice PDFs and payment receipt emails.

Keeping it clean: The footer is limited to simple formatting (bold, italic, underline, lists, and links). Anything else — scripts, images, embedded styles — is stripped automatically when you save, so pasted content is always safe to send to customers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I remove the footer?
Clear the editor and click Save Footer. Invoices and receipts generated afterward will have no footer.
Why doesn't my formatting show on the invoice PDF?
By design, invoice PDFs use a plain-text version of the footer to keep the document layout consistent. Formatting (bold, lists, links) appears in payment receipt emails.
Does the footer appear on estimates?
No — the footer is for billing documents: invoice PDFs and payment receipt emails.
Can each location have its own footer?
Not currently — the footer is organization-wide and applies to all locations.
Do existing invoices change when I edit the footer?
PDFs are generated on demand, so downloading an older invoice after changing the footer will show the current footer. Receipt emails that were already sent are not affected.
